Description
A classic Italian graduation cake, known as Torta Laurea, made with layers of sponge cake, pastry cream, and chocolate.
Ingredients

- 4 eggs
- 200g sugar
- 200g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 500ml milk
- 100g cornstarch
- 100g dark chocolate
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C.
- Beat eggs and sugar until fluffy.
- Fold in flour and baking powder.
- Bake for 25 minutes.
- Heat milk with vanilla and cornstarch to make pastry cream.
- Melt chocolate and spread between cake layers.
- Assemble layers with pastry cream.
- Chill before serving.
Notes
- Use room temperature eggs for better volume.
- Chill pastry cream before assembling.
- Decorate with powdered sugar or chocolate shavings.
