Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 50g breadcrumbs
  • 50g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 400g canned tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan and brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, sauté the onion until soft.
  5. Add canned tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, vinegar, and bay leaf. Stir well.
  6. Return the meatballs to the pan and simmer for 20 minutes.
  7. Serve hot.
