Involtini di Carne al Sugo is a classic Italian dish featuring thin slices of meat rolled with flavorful fillings and cooked in a rich tomato sauce.
Ingredients

- 8 thin slices of beef (about 1/4 inch thick)
- 4 slices of prosciutto
- 4 slices of provolone cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Lay the beef slices flat and season with salt and pepper.
- Place a slice of prosciutto and provolone on each beef slice.
- Mix breadcrumbs, garlic, parsley, and egg in a bowl.
- Spread the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the beef slices.
- Roll each slice tightly and secure with toothpicks.
- Heat olive oil in a pan and brown the rolls on all sides.
- Pour tomato sauce over the rolls and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Remove toothpicks before serving.
Notes
- Use kitchen twine if toothpicks aren’t available.
- Let the rolls rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
