Description

A crostata di frutta is a traditional Italian fruit tart with a buttery crust and fresh fruit topping.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 250g all-purpose flour
  • 125g unsalted butter, chilled
  • 100g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Pinch of salt
  • 500g mixed fresh fruit (berries, peaches, apricots)
  • 2 tbsp apricot jam

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Cut in chilled butter until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  3. Add egg and egg yolk, knead into a dough.
  4. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll out dough and line a tart pan.
  6. Arrange fresh fruit on top.
  7. Bake at 180°C for 35-40 minutes.
  8. Heat apricot jam and brush over baked tart.
