Description

Biscotti San Valentino are crunchy Italian cookies perfect for Valentine’s Day. They are twice-baked for extra crispness and often dipped in chocolate.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup almonds, chopped
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate, melted (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Beat eggs and vanilla in another bowl. Add dry ingredients and mix until dough forms.
  4. Fold in chopped almonds. Shape dough into a log on the baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove and let cool for 10 minutes.
  6. Slice log diagonally into 1-inch pieces. Bake again for 10 minutes per side.
  7. Optional: Dip cooled biscotti in melted chocolate.
